Ingredients
Sauce
3/4 cup brown sugar
235gm or 2/3 cup golden syrup
500ml water
40g butter
1 tsp cinnamon
Dumplings
40gm butter
1 1/3 cup of SR Flour
90g golden syrup (extra)
1/4 cup milk
1 medium banana (mashed)
Method
- Place brown sugar, golden syrup, water, cinnamon and 40 gm butter in a large saucepan, stir over low heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to a simmer and simmer for 2 mins.
- Meanwhile place flour in a bowl, rub in 40gms butter with fingertips. Stir in extra golden syrup and milk and mashed banana.
- Drop level dessertspoons of dumpling into simmering sauce. Cook Covered for 15 mins or until dumplings are puffed and cooked.
- Serve dumplings with sauce. (ice cream is a great addition if you are being a little naughty)
