How can I donate to the community pantry and what items do you need?
Our community pantries at Yeronga Community Centre and West End Community House are open 24/7 for people giving dry goods donations and people accessing what’s inside. You can come by anytime to give or take.
What are we looking for? Well apart from toilet paper (can you spare a square!?) pretty much anything, but especially the things listed below:
- Sandwich bags of all shapes and sizes to make our packs up
- Bottled water
- Female hygiene products
- Tea and coffee
- Juice poppers
- Milk poppers
- Tinned goods
- Bars of soap
- Soups and sauces
- UHT milk
- Treats (chips/share packs/biscuits)
- Peanut butter/vegemite
- Dried fruits and nuts
We also welcome donations of the following items during our working hours (8.30am to 1pm):
- Frozen meals
- Fresh bread
- Fresh fruit and veg
There are one or two items that Yeronga Community Centre and West End Community House accept donations of differently:
- Yeronga Community Centre does not need bread donations.
- West End Community House does not need jam/honey or spreads.
If you’re not sure what you are able to donate please call us directly and have a chat!
